Accomplishments

  •   Since Aug 6, 2012 we instituted a Novena with this prayer card to finish on Aug 14 (the date of his death) with a Mass for the advancement of his cause. This Novena could be said publicly or privately if unable to be at Mass.
  •   The Honoris (Place of Honour) is located in the Lower Level of Saint Patrick Basilica, 112 Kent St., Ottawa, ON.
  •   Fr. McGivney Statue is in place for public view and prayer.
  •   On the suggestion of our Archbishop, prayer cards for the Canonization of the Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney have been placed in the Basilica. Prayer Cards are also available at the Honoris.
  •   Prayers to be said for the opening and closing of K of C Meetings are available to Councils and Assemblies upon request.
  •   Approval has been given for the installation of officers at the Honoris.
  •   Web site launched in May 11, 2013.
  •   Approval has been granted that councils who support/utilize the Honoris and its programs are able to receive credit towards The Columbian Awards.
  •   We are happy to announce that as of January 1, 2014 the Honoris is now a registered charity and can officially issue tax receipts. We encourage all councils and the faithful at large to support the Honoris and contribute to his cause.
  •   The Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney Honoris Committee has an announcement for our followers and supporters:
    As of May 1st, 2018 all deceased and future deceased on our Memorial Page are enrolled for daily Masses. The stipend for this comes out of your contributions. This is a way that we can show our appreciation for your prayers and support.
  •   In early 2012 Cartier Assembly # 860 of Saint Patrick Basilica gifted The Honoris with a lovely statue of Fr. [Now Blessed] Michael J. McGivney. This statue served in The Honoris until the lovely hand carved wooden statue donated by Past State Deputy Deacon Kevin Daudelin was erected. The original statue has been placed in Cartier Assembly Chambers adjacent to The Honoris in The Scavi of The Basilica.
  •   October 2017, a lovely hand-carved statue was donated by Brother Kevin D Daudelin, former Ontario State Deputy, to the Blessed Father Michael J McGivney Honoris.

  •   On March 16 2022, we were gifted by The Michael McGivney Guild a first class relic. A Strand of Hair of Our Blessed Founder. This has been placed in the Blessed Michael J. McGivney Honoris for public viewing and prayers.
